Another One Saved!!

This is from my wife’s blog. “Sometimes I think because John 3:16 is a verse we learn so young and we can spout it off at a moment’s notice, we forget it’s significance. Well, tonight God reminded me of the beauty of :”For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” After church tonight, I was able to talk to a young girl named Claudia. My job couldn’t have been any easier, she was more than ready to accept Christ! She has been coming to church fairly regulary with her sister Regina (who I was able to lead to the Lord a few months ago) and decided tonight that she was ready to make a decision. Praise the Lord! It is always exhilarating to lead someone to Christ, but with her, it was especially exciting.

A Challenge to Wives

Article by Teri Snode Proverbs 31:10-11, “ Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil .” Have you ever wondered why there is almost an entire chapter in the Bible that talks about a good wife. I’m trying to think if there is an equivalent chapter that talks about a good husband. But I can’t think of any. I’ve been thinking about this for some time.

A Word to Moms

As I am rereading the Autobiography of Charles Spurgeon I came across this story again. It is some wonderful advice for a mother to take into account today. Not the part about staying out of church on Sunday evening, of course, but we would do well to follow her example. Children are often very reticent to their parents. Often and often have I spoken with young lads about their souls, and they have told me they could not talk to their fathers upon such matters.

She died for living out her faith!

This is a wild story of a woman that so served God that she was killed for being kind! Ladies read and be blessed! GAUNT, MRS. ELIZABETH Gaunt, Mrs. Elizabeth, lived in London, England, in the dark days of wicked King James II. Mrs. Gaunt was a member of a Baptist church, and a lady of great benevolence.

The Author of our Stories!

The following blog was written just 10 days before the Lord called this dear lady home in a horrible car accident. She was Gene Womack’s sister. My wife had been in her Sunday School class at Northside Baptist Church and said that she was a great Bible teacher. She had a great testimony.

Ladies Corner: Thoughts from Melissa

So, I have been telling my husband since my last blog post that when I get my own computer, I will write more blog posts. Well guess what, someone gave me my own laptop now, so I have no excuses. One thing that I have been thinking a lot about lately is the sheer awesomeness of my salvation.  For those of you who do not know, I was saved at the young age of 6.  I knew that my salvation was by grace through faith and nothing I can do or have done would make a difference.  But over the past few years the Lord has really been teaching me much more about my salvation and I would love to share that with you today. I was taught at a very young age that I was a sinner.  But for some reason I knew because I grew up in a Christian home and I didn’t do things that other people did, that I was a 99% good person.  I remember looking at people and thinking, “I would never do what they did. I could never be like that!” I lived my life not realizing that I was just as wicked and just as sinful.  If I was ever asked to get up and give my salvation testimony I struggled with the thought of, “what can I say?  I was saved at the age of 6.  I was not saved out of drugs, alcohol, sexual sin, etc…  I don’t have an interesting testimony.” But I was so WRONG!!!! I was not a 99% good person who got saved.  I was not a sweet little innocent 6 year old who deserved salvation.
