I just got the following letter from a dear brother! What an encouragement! Brother Austin After watching your video about challenging others to help getting mp3 players into parts of Africa to evangelize and disciple, right then I began to pray. I asked God to give me the resources to buy a lot of mp3s to send to you but I got no answer. I waited patiently for His answer; but instead He told me to you this.

We started a new bus route 2 weeks ago at Faith Baptist Church. Well, it’s almost a bus route… The only thing lacking is the bus! I guess a ‘walking route’ would be more accurate. In a one mile radius from our church door, more than 50,000 people live!! That makes visitation almost always a walking activity. Instead of using a bus to bring in children and teens, a group from our church are walking a route each Sunday morning to bring people into God’s house! It definitely much easier and cheaper than using a bus! In the first 2 weeks of this new route, 7 teenagers and children have accepted Christ as their Savior. It’s so exciting to see our teens (who were saved themselves in the last few years) out soul winning and bring people to church. Learn more about international evangelism at bcwe.org

“…when a person refuses to come to Christ it is never just because of lack of evidence or because of intellectual difficulties: at root, he refuses to come because he willingly ignores and rejects the drawing of God’s Spirit on his heart. No one in the final analysis really fails to become a Christian because of lack of arguments; he fails to become a Christian because he loves darkness rather than light and wants nothing to do with God.” – William Lane Craig ( Reasonable Faith ) Read more quotes at bcwe.org.

At different times since we first arrived in Chile, we have used English classes to reach people with the Gospel. God has blessed this outreach, and many have accepted Christ through it. This week we started a semester of evangelistic English classes at Life Baptist Church. We were praying that God would send us at least 80 people for the class… over 160 signed up!!!! Pray with us that many of these precious people will be saved in the coming months! I am thankful that Kyle Sheridan will be leading this outreach ministry

Since the beginning of the year, we have been working harder than ever to reach new people. We have been focusing most of our efforts on the cityside of Derry due to the great need there. The Lord has blessed with some new people coming into the church and getting involved.

The weather was quite bad here in Derry yesterday, but we had a phenomenal time at the Great Commission Saturday at 10.30 AM. Six folks came out to work at reaching out to our city. We had a short devotion and time of prayer, and then we worked on various things from about 10:45 until the last person left at 1:45. It was a great time of not only work but also fellowship and encouragement.

We are working hard at doing more than we ever have to get the gospel out in our city. We are trying to knock at least 1000 doors per week. Today, we knocked over 200 on the cityside. We had a fairly good response.

“A Global Day of Prayer for the Chinese” is a day in which we are reminded and encouraged to pray for the largest nation and largest people group in the world today! We need to pray for the over 1.3 billion in China and the millions of Chinese that live outside of its borders. It is a day for you and your local church to say a special word of prayer for the souls of China and the Chinese community all around the world. Pray that the Lord will send forth laboueres, that the gospel will be boldly proclaimed, and that God will be glorified among the Chinese people! This year Chinese New Year is on Thursday, February 3, 2011. What can you do? Here are a few ideas: Have special prayer for China on Thursday.

Last night we had a great time with friends from our “Conexion” group, celebrating the new year. We had a guest speaker come, Efrain Tello (on the far left), who brought a tremendous message from Luke 17. After the message we enjoyed some awesome food (quesadillas, my wife is the best!) and fellowship. Please remember me in your prayers tomorrow

Nov. 12th We start “Conexions” (home Bible studies) this Friday. We have six men, including myself, from our church who will be in six different homes around the city sharing the gospel. Our purpose in starting these is to attract new people who may be reluctant to come to a “Baptist” Church due to misconceptions they may have and, of course, also to share the love of Christ through the teaching of His word.
