Last night at the “Revelación” we had our biggest attendance yet with 239! Of those, there were 70 who decided to trust Jesus Christ as Savior! That brings our total number of attendees for three nights up to 616 and decisions to 142!! PRAISE GOD!! If you’re like me (faithless and overly critical, of course we would use other words), you’re probably thinking, “Seventy people, no way! That’s almost 1/3 of the people who came.” And to that I would have to respond, “Yep, almost!” And to those of you who think like me, can I remind you of something? He’s able! (He’s able, I know He’s able… but do I believe that?) And He is most definitely willing. Of course, only God knows the true results. But imagine this, if only one of those was a “true” profession, eternity has been changed. I believe God is honoring the labor of the 100+ young people who came out to serve their King, on their Friday night.

We have just begun the craziest and most incredible drama I have ever seen. Last night was the first showing of “Revelación.” As expected, there was a little disorder in the beginning, but it was amazing to see how quickly everyone got it together. God blessed us with 195 people . Of those, after seeing and hearing what is to come, 33 realized their names were not written in the Lamb’s book of life and trusted Jesus Christ as Savior

My wife had an interesting experience when she was in the grocery store the other day. A couple college students walked up to her in the paper-products aisle with Bibles in their hands and started to share their faith with her. Mormons, I think. Pretty standard form of ‘evangelism’: chattering on endlessly about some doctrine or other, with an aggressive search for assent tacked on at the end. ‘Do you believe

Acts 10:14-15 “But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.” God is asking Peter to do something that he has never done before. He is asking him to eat meat that was unclean for a Jew to eat.

We had a blast yesterday with the children form the orphanage. There were a little over 30 children, and close to 20 workers. It was great to see the jovenes from the church so excited to help.

So one of the big issues in witnessing in China is supposed to be this problem with the word ‘sin.’ It’s definitely a problem, but I’m not sure it’s for the reason that is normally presented. The reason usually given is a linguistic one (most attempts to explain people’s mentality by their language are pretty flawed): that because the word for ‘sin’ in Chinese is the same as the word ‘crime,’ people are hesitant to admit that they are ‘sinners,’ or ‘criminals.’ While that’s basically true, that hardly makes the situation a problem. In fact, it probably sets Chinese-speakers up to better understand what sin really is. Whereas in English the word ‘sin’ may, in modern minds, provoke thoughts of religious head-shaking and divine disappointment in natural human naughtiness, the word really means ‘a transgression of divine law,’ or ‘crime.’ You may find some Americans shrugging and saying, ‘Sure, I’m a sinner. Nobody’s perfect, right?’ But for a Chinese person, admitting you’re a sinner probably does sound more severe.

Update on the orphanage: I showed up for the meeting at 3pm and the director wasn’t there, but his assistant was. So I sat down with her and we talked for about half an hour, telling her who we are and what we want to do. Well, everything went very smoothly with her. Then her husband (the director) showed up

I want to ask that you all pray for a meeting I have tomorrow. It will be with the director of the orphanage at which Jodie and Faye (the two girls who were recently saved) are currently working. The purpose of the meeting is to ask permission to take the children back and forth to church on Sunday mornings. There are 54 children from the age of 3-15 that we would love to see come to know Christ.

Luke 5:4 “Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a draught.” Simon had been fishing all night. He had caught nothing. No doubt, he tried every trick he could think of to catch fish, but none of it worked. At times, we work and struggle. We go through dark, night-like seasons without any fruit
