We had a pretty full day yesterday, but it was great. We were in two great churches in GA:
1. Story Mill Rd Baptist, Hephzibah (AM Service)
Pastor Lance and his wife Sarah were so sweet, they let us stay in their home, and we got some great fellowship time with them. I love meeting pastors that love their people, and are pushing to come up with new ways to reach their community and the world!
A big thank you to the church and Pastor Lance, I got to teach SS, preach, and even sing a couple specials with Melissa. On a side note, HUGELY proud of my wife for teaching her first adult Sunday School class yesterday, I know she was nervous but heard that she did a phenomenal job.
Bro Ken Smith, a member of the church, told me his salvation testimony, and it serves as a good warning to those of us who preach the Gospel: his father walked the aisle to receive Christ in a church when Ken was a young boy, and his father looked back and told his kids to come with him. Everyone rejoiced that the entire family was “saved”, and it wasn’t until decades later that he realized that he had been religious his whole life, but never born-again. Walking an aisle, or praying a prayer doesn’t save anyone: faith in Jesus Christ saves!
2. Journey Baptist Church, Covington (PM Service)
Had a GREAT time with pastor Morris, missions director Kevin Hudson, and the church family! Bro Hudson has been a friend on FB, and I mean that he has actually been a friend, not just clicked the “friend” button! It was great to finally meet him in person.
It was a privilege to get to preach, and I love preaching to people who are excited about the gospel. If you want to hear what I preached, it should be on this link in a day or so.
So thank you to the preacher, and also to her husband, bro Morris! (Inside joke, she’s gonna smack me)
Love my job, what a privilege to preach Jesus and encourage people to reach the uttermost!
