We had a great Easter Sunday with Mt Zion Baptist Church in Hiawassee GA. What a great group of people to celebrate the resurrection of Christ with: I love being with Christians that are excited about Jesus!
One of the neat things about this meeting is that pastor Dye was a missionary to Mexico, and has a real heart and burden for missions. He likes to tell stories, and I always like stories that start with “Let me brag on God for a minute!”
He told us about how his church put missions first, giving sacrificially to faith promise, instead of putting the money toward the building program that was definitely needed. They began to lay the foundations of the building with no money to complete it, just praying that God bring in the money in His time to finish it bit by bit. But after they started the foundation, they never stopped building, and never took out a loan: AND never stopped taking on new missionaries.
That was a big encouragement to me, because Vision Baptist has had the same heart since we started 5 years ago, and the Lord has really used our church as a channel to fund missions all over the world, although we would love a building of our own. Pastor Gardner has often quoted Hudson Taylor:
“God’s work, done in God’s way, will never lack God’s supplies.”
I know that God blesses individuals and churches when they put His priorities first, so I can’t wait to see how God supplies a building for Vision!
So, a big thank you to Mt Zion Baptist and pastor Dye, thanks so much for letting us present our ministry and for the great fellowship!
