Taking care of your missionary

1Corinthians 16:17 I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.

Paul mentions two laymen from the church at Corinth that have come to visit him. They have brought an offering from the church to him. The church at Corinth had apparently fallen behind in their giving. Some was lacking on their part. Now with this offering it was complete.

I wonder if you ever consider how important what you do in your faith promise offering is? Missionaries are in the middle of the battle on the foreign field. Often under difficult circumstances the seek to spread the gospel message.

Our giving encourages them. It lets them know that we love them and want to be part of what God is doing.

These good men made a difference. You make a difference when you get involved in giving to world evangelism.

The other thing that is obvious is that these men went to the field to see their missionary and the work. It is my heart’s desire that as many of you as possible will get to the field to see what you can do to make a difference for the cause of Christ.
