Exo 32:27  And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.

The word of God separates us from people that we love.  If you determine to serve God it will cause a division.  People thought that Jesus came to bring peace on earth but he said that he came to bring a sword.

Mat 10:34  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Mat 10:35  For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Mat 10:36  And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
Mat 10:37  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:38  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
Mat 10:39  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Exodus 18:18

Could it be that world evangelism seems to be too large a task because we like Moses try to perform it alone? Wouldn’t the cause of world evangelism be better served if we were to train others to do the work instead of doing it all ourselves? Isn’t this the training or teaching that we find in 2Ti_2:2 and Eph_4:11-12? You must learn discipleship as soon as possible. Begin now to train others because you are not able to perform it thyself alone. Could it be that world evangelism seems to be too large a task because we like Moses try to perform it alone?

Exo_18:17-27Steps to accomplishing the task that God has given you.

1. Realize that you are not able to perform it alone. Exo_18:18

2. You must learn how to choose leaders to help Exo_18:21

a. They must be capable

b. They must have character

1. truthful

2. not covetous

c. They must have a close personal walk with God

3. You must learn how to distinguish their abilities and place them in the right position Exo_18:21

a. some will lead over thousands

b. some will lead over hundreds

c. some will lead over fifties

d. some will lead over tens

4. You must be willing to allow them the freedom to exercise their gifts in their area Exo_18:22

5. You must be willing to train them to do the job you delegate to them Exo_18:20

a. teach them the lessons

b. show them how or the way

c. make them understand the work they are to do

6. You must be available to help with their problems and to provide further training on an ongoing basis Exo_18:22

7. You must never be to big to accept advise Exo_18:17
