Opportunity
Recently while studying, I came across an interesting illustration. It seems the greeks, among their many gods, had one called opportunity. This stunning idol, when viewed from the front, showed a man with long flowing hair. Yet a view from behind revealed a man with a shaved head. Their lesson was you had better lay hold on opportunity when it comes, for when it passes, it is lost forever.
Now I am not a worshipper of greek gods but thought how true this is. Today, opportunity presented itself in many different ways for you and me. Opportunities to minister, love our wives, husbands, children, friends and even enemies. Are you making the most of your opportunities?
I pray as you go into your next meeting to present your burden, that you will make the most of that opportunity. The Bible speaks of, “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” (Eph 5:16) Jesus said, John 9:4, I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Look for opportunities for they are all around. Make the most of them today! Love you and am praying for you.
