What to preach
You just came from a camp meeting and man was it on!! There was hot preaching on everything from pants to Mickey Mouse, KJV, to calling the president all kinds of names. People were saying, “Amen” the place was electric and you were right in the middle of it.
Sunday rolls around and you get up to preach. What is your message on again? Do not ever forget that when you stand in another man’s pulpit that you are an invited guest. You are not the pastor and how you feel about the president, the Bible issue, or clothing is totally irrelevant to why you are there that morning. Some of you are thinking, “God led me to say that and preach that!” I am going to shock you but I don’t think that God had anything to do with it. That is the reason you are irritated right now reading this. No one is going to tell you what you can and can not preach, bless God. There are some good men that make the mistake of bringing up issues they have no right to because in other meetings it gets an “Amen”.
Gentlemen, we are not fishing for amens nor are we trying to straighten out any churches. We are there to bring glory to our God, present our burden by preaching passionately on the heartbeat of God, missions, and love the people. You nor I are the great miracle workers that are going to straighten out this “mess” the church is in.
Do not lose your focus and purpose. May God use you mightily to stir people for missions. May people surrender to the field. May preachers be called. May souls be saved. Oh, may our hearts grow heavy with each service we are in and souls are not saved, preachers and missionaries do not surrender and the church is not drawn closer to God. What a great responsibility we have as preachers of the gospel.
May God set you ablaze with His glory and use you greatly in stirring churches for world evangelism.
I really do love you,
Bro. Tony
