The Man of Diligence
I pray that today finds you and I being diligent about the Lords work. I pray with your calling and praying for meetings that you will be diligent. Anyone can start well but diligence helps one finish well. As my pastor, Wayne Cofield says on the golf course, “It’s not how you drive, it’s how you arrive in the hole!” Maybe you can use these points for Sunday School or a devotional time.

We are commanded to be diligent. Notice the different areas we are to be diligent in:
1. Be diligent to keep all of God’s commandments. (Deut. 6:7)
2. Be diligent to guard your affections. (Prov. 4:23)
3. Be diligent to add to your faith. (II Peter 1:5-7)
4. Be diligent to make your calling and election sure. (II Peter 1:10)
5. Be diligent to minister to other Christians. (Heb 6:10-12)
6. Be diligent in seeking the Lord. (Heb 11:6; Mat 6:33)
7. Be diligent in removing the root of bitterness. (Heb 12:15)
8. Be diligent to avoid swindlers and frauds. (Prov. 23:1-3)
9. Be diligent to know the condition of those under your spiritual care. (Prov. 27:23)
May we be men of diligence.
