What Number?
In a class recently, we were discussing people skills and ministry. I have heard that preachers would enjoy the ministry if it were not for the people. Though if it were not for the people, would they have a ministry? A few questions to think about.
How well do we interact with others?
What is our view of people?
Does the size of the total number count more than the individual numbers that make it up the total number? Do the individuals matter or the crowd?
”What number does your ministry have to reach for the people to start being important to you?” Do you get excited over your five or five hundred.
We look not to excuse a fruitless ministry yet there is a saying needed that will bring us balance. Austin Gardner told me around ten years ago, “Numbers are not our goal, only the results of our ministry.” That is not saying that a large crowd is because of a good ministry but as we minister and love individual people, the crowd will grow.
Will the church running twenty be as important to you as the one running two hundred?
Do you value people? Is yours a high commitment or low commitment?
How much will you invest into your ministerial relationships?
May each person you come in contact with feel the love of Christ through you.
May God bless you greatly. He valued people so much He gave His only begotten Son, will we be willing to give as well?
You are in my heart,
Bro. Tony
