Deputation During the Holidays
“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” -1Cor. 4:2
For traveling missionaries, the holiday season provides a relaxed schedule for meetings, with time to reflect upon deputation planning. In the next two articles we’ll be sharing a few suggestions for organizing contacts and meetings.
Expanding your contact list
Pray Psalm 37:23, asking the Lord to order your steps, as a good steward of the resources he has entrusted to you.
- Search Locally
- List out the pastors and churches that you and your pastor know personally.
- Take some time to call and encourage those that you know.
- Ask if they can recommend other churches.
- Gather referrals from other missionaries.
- Ask if you can mention their name, and mark as a recommendation.
- Search Specifically
- Go to the church website first and locate a doctrinal statement.
- Use key words, such as KJV to narrow your results
- Search Geographically
- Maximize your time by looking for meetings within a 2-3hr radius from regional supporting churches.
Helpful websites:
