Cornerstone Baptist Church
Yesterday we began a meeting with Bro. Jimmy Wilbanks and the fine people of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hickory Flat, MS. God was soberly evident during the messages yesterday.
In the morning service, God had burdened me about preaching on II Corinthings 13:1-5 on examining yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. Saturday night I just could not sleep. During the service you could divinely sense the presence of God. What I did not know was that there was a young man that was leaving for the Navy that had brought his family. Around twenty of them! As they were leaving the preacher said they could barely look at him for the conviction they were under. It is very humbling to see God work. For if God does not work, then the work will not get done!
Last night I preached on “Time to bring the cross back home” from Mark 15. One of the men came up and said, “I just want you to know that I did not enjoy that at all…..but I sure did need it.” Once again I wanted to find a corner and hide as God showed Himself strong in the lives of those dear people. What a beautiful invitation.
Oh that God would rend the heavens and drown us with His presence. We need revival. I need revival. May God stir His people to love Him as we ought. I believe a church that is revived and in love with God, the natural outflow is world evangelism. Oh pray for us tonight.
